| BOOMERANG GROUPS Invest and return. At Nexus we believe the metaphor of a boomerang is helpful as a pattern for spiritual formation and the development of character. The more you're willing to invest (the harder you throw the boomerang) the more fruit you'll experience in your development of character (the faster the boomerang circles around). Boomerang Groups are a tangible expression of the metaphor and help us build strong Christ-Like character in our lives. So It's Really just a small group? Yes and no. "Yes" in the sense that like Small Groups, Boomerang Groups are typically made up of 6-8 people that meet regularly for a time of discussion and prayer. get connected! [SPRING 2013]
What are we trying to do? As Nexus gets bigger we want to do all we can to be sure that people get to know one another. There really are so many interesting people here and you are one of them. So the goal of this 5 week session is to: a. meet and really get to knew a few more people b. Use our own stories as a base to enter into the spiritual journey and lives of others. How do we plan to do this? Using the book "Love Does” by Bob Goff we will read the many engaging stories in this book and talk about how they touch our lives. The book will be supplied. MINI-BOOMERANG GROUp [1] MINI-BOOMERANG GROUP [2] [Mondays 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM, April 9th through May 7th] Led and Hosted by Steve & Christie Martin MINI-BOOMERANG GROUP [3] G[5]- DEALING WITH LOSS
Death and taxes; loss and grief – things we can't avoid: can't do much about the first two, but when it comes to loss and the grief that results, it's an experience we all share…and one of the most misunderstood. Instead of sidestepping or avoiding grief, it's essential to work through it. Learning to grieve well is a skill and one of the most important things we can do. If you're grieving a loss (any kind, a recent one or from long ago), this group will work through grief together (one of the most critical steps to do so). We plan to meet Wednesday evenings. If you'd rather not commit before learning more, there are two ways: attend an informal intro session on Sunday, January 13 at 9:30 A.M. at Misty Mountain Café (33 queen St. S. Kitchener) in the meeting room at the back. Or, contact john dinner at john@boardgovernance.ca TO SIGN-UP, EMAIL PASTOR MURRAY. |
